Optimizely Integration for Translation

Translate your Optimizely content the moment you publish it, and review every word before it goes live.

You publish a page in Optimizely, and it's live in your source language instantly. Every other market waits, sometimes days, while someone remembers to export the content, request a translation, and import it back in.

The wxrks Optimizely Connector closes that gap without handing over control. Publish content once, and wxrks can pick it up automatically, translate it, and hand it back as a draft your team reviews before anything goes out in another language.

Translate the moment you publish. Review every word before it goes live. Auto Sync, Draft Review, Your Own APIs.

Publish Once, Translate Automatically

Turn on automatic sync, and every publish in Optimizely creates a translation project in wxrks for whatever target languages you've set. No one has to remember to trigger it. Prefer to stay hands-on instead? Leave automatic sync off and send content for translation manually, on your own schedule. It's the same automatic hand-off we built for our Contentful connector, just wired to Optimizely's publish event instead.

Translations Land as Drafts, Never Live Without You

Nothing this connector translates goes live on its own. Finished translations come back into Optimizely as draft versions, and your team publishes them the same way they'd publish any other draft, on their own schedule, after their own review. The author stays the one who decides what ships.

Built on Optimizely's Own APIs

The connection runs on Optimizely's own Content Management API and Graph, using three separate credential pairs instead of one shared key, and the API key wxrks uses only gets the access it actually needs to read, write, and publish drafts, nothing more. This integration supports Optimizely CMS (SaaS) specifically; the self-hosted CMS 12/13 product line isn't supported.

No Babysitting the Webhook

wxrks registers the webhook in your Optimizely instance automatically when you turn automatic sync on, and re-registers it on its own if you regenerate the webhook secret or toggle sync off and back on. There's nothing to copy back into Optimizely by hand. Our Bitbucket connector automates the same kind of plumbing, just through pull requests instead of a webhook.

How It Works

  1. Connect. Link your Optimizely CMS (SaaS) instance to a wxrks org unit with your API credentials.
  2. Configure. Turn on automatic sync and set your target languages, or keep it manual.
  3. Translate. Every publish, or every manual send, creates a project and runs it through your translation workflow.
  4. Review. Translated drafts land back in Optimizely, ready for your team to review and publish.

Full click-by-click setup, including where each credential comes from in Optimizely, lives in our Help Center, this is the shape of it, not the whole tutorial.
